Way back in the 1970’s folk-rock pioneers Steeleye Span changed the face of folk music forever, taking it out of small clubs
and introducing it to the world of gold discs, festival stages and international tours.

Members have come and gone over the years, but the band has always remained at the forefront
of the genre they helped to define, and, today the band with a line-up of old and new players has become an institution in British music.

Maddy Prior, the voice of the band since day one is still there, and local lad and drummer Liam Genockey is well on his way to a long service medal.

The rest of the band includes Julian Littman on guitars, top bass man Roger Carey, Spud Sinclair, guitars and keyboards, new boy and former Bellowhead front man Benji Kirkpatrick
and Jessie May Smart, a young and vibrant fiddle player who  replaced long-standing stalwart, Peter Knight.

So the future of this famous band is still well and truly in capable hands and is sure to get another big welcome at the beautiful and historic St Mary in the Castle, Hastings.
